Introduction: Cabo Mexico
With its beautiful beaches, luxurious all-inclusive resorts, and endless sunny days, there’s no doubt that Los Cabos is one of the most beautiful parts of Mexico – and the perfect destination for those seeking an idyllic escape during winter months. My husband and I spent our honeymoon in San Jose del Cabo and the entire trip was a dream. More recently, we celebrated the wedding of a dear friend in Cabo San Lucas last year. It’s safe to say this place has a special place in my heart. Whether you’re planning a rowdy Spring Break in the resort city of Cabo San Lucas or a week of R&R during the late summer months, this list will give you a sense of what to wear in Cabo.
When packing for a trip to Cabo, you’ll want to bring outfits that are stylish, comfortable, and versatile. In this article, I’ll explore nine essential outfit styles to pack for your Mexican getaway, complete with photos to help you visualize your perfect Cabo wardrobe. And while this is certainly not a travel guide, I’ll provide a little bit of commentary along the way.
So grab your suitcase and let’s dive into the world of Cabo style with this ultimate packing list!
Packing For Mexico Weather
If it’s your first trip to Cabo, you may be wondering the best time to visit and what temperatures to expect. Peak tourist season in Cabo is December through April, with March and April seeing an influx of visitors on Spring Break. The average temperature during these months is around 75-80°F, making it a great time to enjoy water activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, and fishing. However, you may incur extra cost for accommodations and activities during this time due to high demand – especially if you’re staying in a tourist area.
Although May to November is technically low season in Cabo, an ideal time to visit Cabo is in May or June. During this time of year, temperatures can reach up to 90°F during the day, but the evenings are generally cooler. This is also the time when you can find great deals on accommodations and activities.
Keep in mind that storm season runs from June 1st to November 30th, and Cabo tends to see tropical storms during this period. It’s essential to be prepared for rainy season and pack appropriate clothing to stay comfortable during your vacation.
Cabo Outfit #1: Versatile Sundress
Whether you’re planning a day trip to Flora Farms or just walking around downtown Cabo San Lucas, you’ll need plenty of casual outfits for your trip. Specifically, a casual sundress is a must-have for any Cabo-bound traveler. Midi dresses like this one can be worn during the day for a casual, beach-ready look, or easily dressed up for an evening out on the town. Personally, I prefer midi dresses to short dresses because they provide additional sun protection. With a variety of styles, colors, and prints available, casual sundresses offer endless versatility and can easily be accessorized to create a variety of looks.

Cabo Outfits #6: Long Pant Look
While Cabo is known for its warm weather during the day, it’s a good idea to prepare for cooler evenings. Packing long pants will ensure you stay comfortable when the temperature drops. Opt for neutral pieces – like these pants and tank top – for pieces that can be worn more than once. And don’t forget to bring a light jacket or wrap to layer over your outfit for extra warmth! I absolutely love this set from Amazon; throw on a casual pair of shoes and you have a versatile, cold weather-ready look. The set also comes in two neutral variations that would be great additions to your Cabo packing list.

Cabo Vacation Outfits #7: What to Wear in Cabo at Night

Cabo Outfits #8: Versatile Coverups
In addition to its vibrant night life scene, Cabo is home to dozens of beach clubs, which are the perfect place to get rowdy with friends. Mango Deck is a popular day club, known for its lively atmosphere and jumbo margaritas. Other notable beach clubs in Cabo include Bagatelle, a French-inspired spot with a live DJ, SUR Beach House, a beachfront club with delicious seafood, and Corazon Beach Club, which features one of the few swimmable beaches in Cabo. For daytime outings, I recommend packing a few versatile cover ups that can be worn both indoor and outdoor, like this gorgeous set that comes in 6 colors. Pro tip: I use this puffer bag as both my beach and carry-on bag!
Puffer Beach Bag $46
Cabo Attire #9: Swimsuits
And the last thing on my list of things to pack for Cabo – swimsuits! Of course, you’ll want to pack your most-loved bathing suit – or five! In addition to classic bikinis, I recommend packing a few one-piece swimsuits that you can wear under flowy pants for an additional daytime look. Throw in your favorite pairs of sandals and a quick-drying beach towel for a day in the sun.
